The buildings may have gone, but the memories remain.

I've been researching Alfred William Lipscombe (b.1835), Railway Inspector of Worcester Shrub Hill. I've found numerous newspaper articles about him and a few about an Illuminated Address presented to him by GWR which apparently included a photograph of him. Thanks to your site I can piece together a little more about his duties and uniform.
Thank you

I'm the former football liason officer of the Dutch Railway Police in the years 1987-1991. On 23-03-1988 their was a friendly football match between England and the Netherlands at the (old) Wembly. By invitation of the BTP we were there for a whole week in London at Tavistock Place. I've forgotten the name of your Football liason officer. Can you help me? Shortly after 1988 he was retired. Details of these days: The ferry Ostend-Dover was on strike, the Dutch supporters could not cross the channel by coach so they went by foot en were transported by train to Liverpool street station. Special detail: Half an hour before arriving at Liverpool Street Station, a murder took place in one of the trains in Liverpool Street station.
With kind regards,
Joop Goedhart.

Joop, thanks for sharing your memories.
I believe the Football Liaison Officer was Inspector Dennis Temporal. He was awarded the MBE for his services in 1990.
