Southern Railway Police Vehicle

Extract from the March 2011 edition of History Lines (No. 19)

Steve Daly starts us off in Memory Lane this month with a photograph he has recently acquired. He is pretty certain that all the police officers are from the Southern Railway police, but as to the date and location he hasn’t got a clue. The registration of the car is BP 2913, which was issued by West Sussex Council sometime between January 1904 and April 1923. So could the location be somewhere on the former London, Brighton & South Coast Railway? Steve is fairly certain that the car was probably hired locally than being owned by the railway company, but is happy to be corrected if you know otherwise.

Are you able to supply anymore information in respect of the photograph published below please?

WebMasters Note:
Steve advises me that he is still trying to identify the location for the Southern Railway motor car, so if you can help please use our Contact page.
